HR Manager - NYC

Our client is hiring an HR Manager to support their global business operations.

They are looking for a credible and highly motivated HR professional with excellent employee relations experience to implement global HR strategic initiatives which will contribute to the achievement of the overall business strategic objectives whilst managing all BAU HR-related tasks of the Asset Wealth Management division’s North America North team.


Key Responsibilities

  • Own all HR processes and responsibilities across all employee life-cycle activities such as on-/off-boarding, benefits administration, performance management, employee relations, compliance, policy management and immigration
  • Act as a single point of contact for NY office for HR related matters
  • Effectively manage and deliver all North America annual HR processes (including year end and employee feedback cycle) alongside the BAU HR responsibilities
  • Support  North America HR projects under the oversight of the Global HR Director and manage these to full and successful completion
  • Be prepared to roll up sleeves to manage all tasks from administration to implementation of strategic initiatives
  • Establish and maintain sound and efficient operational HR and payroll processes. Manage HR information on HRIS system and other database. Maintain accurate employee data and provide accurate and timely information
  • Act as an HR advisor to the North America HR Steering Committee whilst demonstrating commercial-focused critical thinking
  • Train managers on all employee leadership matters & HR processes
  • Prepare HR metrics for senior management
  • Ensure compliance with applicable labor and employment laws and regulations across our North America team
  • Proactively and thoughtfully address workplace and employee relations issues on an individual and systemic basis
  • Collaborate with the Group HR team aligned to their flat hierarchy and their collaborative culture
  • Contribute as an HR professional to an equitable and inclusive culture in all of their offices

The successful candidate will have the ability to build a thorough understanding of the Company's  North America HR strategy, employees, policies and processes. The HR Manager will report to the Global HR Director and work alongside key other key stakeholders, who have responsibilities aligned to managing the business’s operations.

The jobholder will be aligned to their Global business operations team and will receive mentoring from the Group HR Director.

Key Skills

  • Proven experience in an HR Generalist role – ideally within Management Consultancy or Financial Services
  • Strong academic background
  • Thorough understanding and experience of key employee relations best practice (disciplinary and capability processes, etc.)
  • Ability in navigating and managing policies within a division aligned to any global policies
  • Excellent knowledge of US labor law and benefits system is a must (focussing mostly on New York, Massachusetts, California and Colorado states)
  • Ability to successfully manage multiple senior external and internal relationships
  • Excellent communication, presentation and problem-solving skills by communicating with confidence, influence and authority
  • Focus on team achievement, not just individual goals
  • Comfortable in a fast moving corporate environment
  • Good understanding of research methods and data analysis techniques
  • Superb interpersonal skills, with ability to influence and lead
  • Business language fluency in English both verbally and in writing
  • Business user of MS tools including Power Point and Excel


NYC office with some flexibility to work remotely/from home (3/2). A proportion of the work might require travel to North America offices and on occasionally international travel might be required.
